Pete Stergios wins his first RROL Late Model feature

After a rough and tumble 200 lap, double point event, Candia New Hamshire's
Pete Stergios wins his first RROL Late Model feature tonight here at Mesa Marin
Raceway in the King Taco 200!
After leading the most laps and dominating the event Pete, tell us how it feels?
"Well, it was one of those things where I had the opportunity to capitalize on
everyone else's troubles and I went for it. It really feels good to win with so
many good racers in this series. After the first few races with pit stop
problems and driver issues, I was patient tonight and the end result was a win.
This is so intese every week."
Tommy Smith keeps racking up the points with another top 3 finish, tell us about
your night?
"Second place again! It seems like I have a problem finding victory lane. But
hey, second is not bad and the points are what we're racing for. They call it
"big picture racing." I am between some young guns tonight. There two (Ryan
Spaulding and Pete Stergios) can really drive when they are patient. I just sort
of sat back and waited for the race to come to me tonight. I wasn't the fastest
car here, but the fastest car doesn't always win."
And coming home with his first podium finish of the season, Ryan Spaulding. Tell
us about your eventful night?
"Whoo! Yeah, I felt like a freakin' pinball out there, tonight! Really, it all
started in happy hour when my team mate Tyler King got me going into turn 3 then
Pete got me once in the race, under yellow. Then I got it from someone else,
then Pete again, and then Christian. Other than that, I'm really happy. I knew I
could get a podium finish, but I just needed to have a little patience and luck
fall my way. But Man Oh Man, this feels as good as a win!"
Now the tour takes a week off for the Christmas holiday before picking it back
up at Pike's Peak International in two week's time. Will we see a new face in
victory lane? or will we have our first repeat winner of the season? The series
will also welcome some new faces and that should make the competition even
stronger than it has been, up to this point.
The action will start at 7:30 with the first of two qualifying heats, then the
Advance Auto Parts non-qualifiers event before we go 175 laps in the Coors Light
Late Model Showdown.
