Dynamite Dominates at Jennerstown!
Mooresville, North Carolina's Charli "CaptainDynamite" Brown led 85 of the
125 laps tonight to win the Reese's Take5 125 at Jennerstown Speedway.
Brown also won the Bud Pole Award with a lap time of 19.632 and won the Most
laps Led Award in his Hayes Jewelers #46 Chevrolet.
Charli, Your first feature win of the season in the series you created. How's it
feel right now?
"I'm really pleased with the way the series has grown and developed. We were bad
fast right off the trailer tonight and I knew if I could just hit my marks and
keep my corner exits perfect, we were gonna be tough to beat. Jennerstown is a
tricky place to get a handle on, but once you do it's a fun place to race."
What does it mean to get your first win under your belt?
"Well, in all honesty, I really thought we should have won last week at
Stafford. Memphis was a pretty good indication as to where I thought we'd be,
But the rest of the guys in the division went to work and caught up to us, so
I'm happy we're back to where we were before the season started."
Christian Theriault brings the Maple Leaf contingent it's first podium finish of
the season. Congratulations, tell us about your night.
"My race was awesome! The car was loose, but fast. I was somehow able to avoid
most of the wrecks. I can't wait until next week. Team Avenue will be a force to
reckon with!"
Tommy Smith comes home third with his second consecutive podium finish aboard
the Smith and Ward Home Improvement Chevrolet. Tell us about your race.
"It was terrible. I was loose all night. I got lucky to not get collected in one
of my own self spins! Everyone else did a great job to avoid my spinning car. I
basically just hung in there and didn't try to get more out of my car than it
was willing to give."
The heat races were won by James Kelley and Tommy Smith. Jack Kellogg took the
win in the Advance Auto Parts Consolation race. Ryan Spaulding took home the "NoNeck
Hard Charger Award" of the race award for his 10th place finish after coming
through the Advance race to make tonight's feature.
The third and final event on the Whelen Northern Tour takes us to the Jersey
Shore to race at the famous "Turkey Derby" at Wall Stadium in Belmar, New
Jersey. Our first regional champion will be crowned after this event, as the
tour moves onto the Raybestos Western Swing and into the month of December.
