    Darkness

My screen is too dark. Im running an ati 9600xt 256mb-1g ddr-athlon xp2500 ive tried increasing brightness in ati control panel, monitors max, drivers current, dx current. Is there any way to adjust gamma or brightness in game or in config file? Ive done that b4 to correct this issue in other games. Btw the game runs fine, not slow or anything just too dark.

Kind of a stupid question, but what time of the day are you racing at?

I'm not implying you're stupid with this next post, so don't take offense, but in the ATi CCC, there is a drop down menu that has the selection of Desktop or Full Screen 3D under the color tab on the left hand side of the panel. If you see your screen getting brighter as you're increasing the brightness or whatnot, then you're not doing it correctly.

Good Lord,,,,,,im no fool,,,,,yes i realize theres a dropdown and ive selected fullscreen 3d, it makes no difference , ,,when i return to the game its like the video settings reset or defult, ive turned them all up but as soon as i go back to the game it gets dark again. as far as the time of day,, all im tryn is jonesville ona cloudy day, but it looks like 9pm its like the gamma needs to go way up, i had a similar issue with ET but i could increase gamma in config. file. i think its an ati thing, just wonder if other ati users are having this issue.

BTW im 33, have built and repaired several pc's ,repair and setup dsl ,networking, modems, routers and pc's for att.

I'm not trying to undermind your intelligence. It took me a couple of seconds to realize it. I also know of the issue you're talking about. I encountered it on my ATi 9800 Pro. It's like you set it, but it just rests. I honestly can't recommend anything as I never investigated the issue, especially now that I got my new laptop (which has a Mobility X1400).

I use the ATI Tray Tools for my color profile, and like what you're experiencing, it resets whenever the resolution changes or a game goes fullscreen. Wht I did it assign a hotkey, so I can press that in the game to load the color profile.
Maybe you can try the same.
