Red rings but still works?

Couple nights ago my Xbox got the red rings, next morning my brother forgot about it and turned it on to play. To our surprise it came on and is continuing to play normally. Any one else had this issue? Should i still send it to Microsoft?

a guy i work with has had the red rings maybe 3 or 4 times, but each time, he's been able to get the system to come back somehow. sometimes it could be something minor that caused the rings. i think i got it once, and all i did was reconnect the hard drive, as i don't think i had it in all the way.

Mine occasionally red rings when I turn it on via the wireless controllers, but have had no issues when just turning it on from the system. So I just always turn it on from the system now and then turn the controller on when it boots up.

Mine has red ringed when the cat resets the power bar but I restart the Xbox and it's all good.
