    flags...

im curious after reading what i think is every darn post up to date on this game is about the flags used in the game.

first off... what ones are set (so far) to be integrated into the game.

    ie:
Blue flag - for leaders / faster cars coming from behind
Red flag - the ONE flag ive yet to see in ANY game to date. would it be possible to implement some kind of '1 minute' red flag period for a 'rain delay' (if rain is possible that would be just awesome to see drops on your windshield... i dont really know why)

Lucky Dog?? - is this even USED in ARCA series rules? if so, is that implemented as well?

i believe green/white/checkered finishes was answered? and you DO have that implimented.

and just in general as ive only seen arca from youtube videos... ... do they 'really' race on DIRT? are we thus going to be introduced to 'tearoffs' or having to pit to 'clean the windshield?'

i hope im not asking too much... im just so giddy over these super-accurate racing games set to be released amongst yourself and iRacing

    much thakns for your time!

As of right now all flags with the exception of the red flag are implemented and working correctly. We have toyed with the idea of having a possible rain delay, so that may be in there at some point. Arca does not have a lucky dog rule, but it is an option you can choose to run if you so desire. Green white checker is implemented and does work. Yes Arca does run at 2 dirt tracks, and finally the window tear off is being worked on. I can't say for sure wether or not it will be in the intial release but in all likely hood if not included it will be implemented on one of the first updates.

Is the Red Flag Ever going to be implemented? It sucks running the last 4- 5 laps of a race under caution. Seems to happen alot.

If you have "Green White Checkered" on, you never will finish under caution. It can be setup with just one "Green, White, Checkered" attempt, or unlimited. Red Flag option would be for something like a rescheduled saved race, a paused race, etc ...

Will the length of the cautions vary? In n2k3 its always the same amount of laps. What about the opening pace laps? Will there just be 1 or 3 like a real race.

Opening pace laps are optioned for you. Basically, by default, Short Tracks will be set to 2 - 3 laps, and SS will be basic 1 lap. This is a variable you will be able to modify.

Caution laps are variable as well, and also can be waved off if formation or other issues are presented before green

Caution laps do vary, although not to the degree you would see in real racing. Mostly due to the quick clean up of damaged cars during a race....lol, and yes you can run multiple pace laps.

Cool thats real nice for short tracks. How is it handling people that leave during a yellow? I know rfactor was a little buggy sometimes when somebody would leave in the middle of a yellow. People would get BFed for passing a car that doesnt exist anymore.

Well that's good to hear after some of the 4-5 lap cautions we have in N2003 after a single car spin.

Is it possbile like rfactor to build heat and tire pressure during pace laps, and does it feel like your driving on concrete tires?

OK, yes you can build heat into the tires, thus a two lap pace start allows more appropriate time for this, and you can launch at race start with a bit more confidence.

A feeling of concrete is not a feeling I have. The tire data and its translation into the game is as accurate as anything can be. We worked exclusively with Hoosier, and an ISI representative with extensive fluent knowledge of Gmotor pysics, and a third party engineering firm to exact these and then worked with many drivers to perfect them and the feeling. There is no guesswork, pledgered data, or assumed response or any guessed calculative involved in this aspect of the game. You will feel a distinct difference when you run bias ply and radial and your wear, grip and heat should be very close to what would be expected and matched to real life telemetry recorded by Hoosier.

I don't know much about ARCA other than what I have seen on TV, but do they run radials on the bigger tracks and bias-ply tires on the small tracks? If so I would assume you guys already have that in the game. That would be cool since the bias-ply tires let you slide around more, like the old days of NASCAR.

The flag/caution options sound great. Can't wait to see the Green-White-Checkered feature. Gateway's ARCA race at 3 of them, then a White flag shootout. Very good work so far guys, take as much time as you need perfecting the game, seeing that we've waited this long for a newer game.

    Thank you Sim Factory

    That's insanely awesome!

It appears you guys are giving us a lot of customization to this game. I wish more developers concentrated on that.

You're making it awfully tough in not buying this game on release day.
