  • Anyone heading to COTA in October?

Looks like I'm heading to Austin for the GP, got my flights all booked and getting my race tix next month. Looking forward to it, gonna be my first race event I'm heading to by myself.

Is anyone else going? Would be pretty cool to finally meet a member or two.

Nice! Hearing a few others from Reddit and a couple other groups are going as well. Think some of us made a pact to have a shoey if Dan makes the podium.

Still trying to coordinate things to do, restaurants to hit up, and when to show up to the track for General Admission spots. I'm flying in at 11:00pm on Friday and leaving at 3:45 on Monday, so time feels a bit crunched for doing stuff outside of the track.

Food here is awesome, just pick what type you're looking for and you can find a good place. I'm showing up when the gates open most of the day, I'd take Saturday to explore the track and find your spot for Sunday.

Figured so. Do grandstand tickets grant entry into general admission grounds? Asking because I found a 3 day package thru a vendor that's around $100 cheaper for Turn 4 than general admission.

I can't imagine a GA pass could get you somewhere a grandstand ticket wouldn't.

Bit late to the party, but I will also be there for all three days. Grandstand 4, 12, and then 9 as a part of their trio package

Nice. I ended up getting GA. Just trying to plan out my schedule. I'll be there for Saturday and the JT concert. Not sure about Stevie but it depends if I find anything to do Sunday.

COTA told me Uber or a ride share is probably the best thing I can do for transportation, and even they said it's easy to get around using the first timer codes. Any experience with those? I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to be waiting an eternity just to get a ride.

I haven't been to F1 weekend, but the ride-share pickup is just outside the grand plaza gate, really convenient. I'd look up RideAustin, they're like uber or lyft, but local to austin and usually have better rates.

Yeah, I have RideAustin downloaded in case I need it. At least there's a lot of different options if Uber is completely backed up.

Just arrived. Looking forward to seeing it all tomorrow, think I'll be headed around there probably around 2, if the GA isn't completely packed around T1 then that's where I'll be.

Anyone have experience with taking transit back to the airport?
