Nextel Cup owner/driver and veteran off-road racer Robby Gordon arrived at Homestead-Miami Speedway Friday morning, fresh off an early-morning victory in the Baja 1000.
Gordon won the off-road race for the third time, this year in a 19-and-a-half hour time span with partner Andy McMillin.
"We had a flawless run," he said after arriving for the NASCAR Nextel Cup Ford 400. "We had absolutely no issues, and I'm really happy that Andy was able to get his first win with us."
Gordon drove the first 725 miles of the 1,050.83-mile course before giving way to McMillin.
"We could barely see out the front window to the nose of the truck for the first eight hours because of all the dust," Gordon said. "We started so deep in the field [31st of 36 Trophy Trucks, the race's premier class] that we were basically driving blind until we got out in front."
Trophy Trucks are unlimited production full-size pickups with more than 800 horsepower.
Congrats Robby :roxs: :roxs:
