Alright, time to vent
So I’ve been working on getting a loan for school since September 2nd through Sallie Mae. They jerked me around every way from Sunday, always telling me it’ll just be another 5 working days. Due to this, I was paying bills and other things accordingly on my credit cards (Seeing as I always get a bit extra as an insurance policy and to pay off books and whatnot) Well now mid October has rolled around and nothing.
So I call them and have to enter my social 3 times, my zip code twice, my phone number twice and my street number once. F’n ridiculous if you ask me. Finally I get to a woman and she states that theres no loan on file for me. I go bullshit, you’ve been dickin me around for 6 weeks theres gotta be something. Finally after 15 minutes they “find” it and then proceed to tell me that since my dad co-signed on it, they can only talk to him even though the loan is in my name. Tell my dad he calls, blah blah blah, they say 3 business days. I wait 4 business days after seeing nothing and call them back. My bank back home is kind enough to front me the money I need with no collateral and whatnot, providing I can get a document from Sallie Mae that says my loan is in progress. Piece of cake right?
Hell no. I call them up, already pissed from the last couple weeks and ask for that. Stupid woman goes, I’m sorry we don’t do that kind of thing here. Once again I go bullshit, I’ve done it with other lenders before. Blah blah blah, I ask to speak to the manager and explain the situation. Afterwards she goes, well I’m sorry sir but I do not see what the issue is. I say, all I want is a goddamned piece of paper from you saying you’re working on a loan for me. You can mail it, you can fax it, hell you can paint it on a wall and take a picture and email it to me, that’s all I’m asking. Still, they give me no. I hang up on her.
So I decided to, just in case, go through Citibank as a backup option for the next time they jerk my nuts. Sure enough, two days ago I call Sallie Mae (now its been almost 8 weeks) and they proceed to tell me my loan was suddenly canceled. But, and heres the kicker, they can’t tell me why it was canceled and suggest that I reapply. Screw that, I’ll stick with my Citibank loan, which now isn’t quite enough.
So here I am today. I’m in the hole in checking, both my CC are maxed out at the moment, I literally have just enough gas to get home, but no cash or any other means to buy gas to get to work tomorrow (gonna try and catch a ride with someone). Now I know I could have done things a lil better to prepare for this, so it is partially my fault. But I am so fed up with crap right now its not even funny. I left out good portions of the story too to help with length. So I’m literally gonna scrounge for change tonight just so I can get gas. Sad eh
