Alright so for some reason my computer is being really weird. When I go to turn it on, the computer turns on and everything sounds normal, but it's like there's no connection to the monitor.....BUT, sometimes it starts up like normal and i get to the BIOS thing with all your system information and it freezes.....

If it helps, it said my Windows wasn't genuine for a long time, so i turned automatic updates off awhile ago and it worked fine. Then one day it shut off on my roommate, and ever since then sometimes it works for awhile, and sometimes it won't even load up on the monitor...

I'm guessing I'm gonna have to just go out and buy a new version of Windows, but is there anyway to keep all my data (cars, renders, pictures music etc.) if i get a new version?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :roxs:

Odds are whatever was on your hard drive is still there. You can either take it out and put it in another computer as a slave and copy the files off, or you could get an external enclosure and it'd act like an external hard drive on another... I think your problem may be beyond the hard drive.
