TruckSeries.com:

Former USAC Midget champion Josh Wise was spotted walking through the pits here at Martinsville today, and said he will be racing a Michael Waltrip Racing truck in the NCTS in 2007.

He should do well. In the midgets this year, his team was really inconsistent which ended up costing him the championship. He has a 113 point lead over his teamate Levi Jones in the Sprint cars now, with only a couple races left so he should wind up as the Sprint champion. At least it's nice to see that Mikey finally decided that he is going to higher younger drivers to drive for him. He would make a good car owner because of his ability to get sponsors.

Why wouldnt he? Hes not driving, hes just owning.

EDIT: Wait, "owning" sounds like hes winning, thats not right. He "owns" the truck doesnt sound right either.

Why wouldnt he? Hes not driving, he is just the owner of the truck.

Probably a dumb question. But where did Mikey get all the money to start his own team?

You're probably right, but I like to think that Mikey's driving doesn't show off how good his car might be. It's also the truck series, which is a lot less competitive than the Cup Series (really?), so maybe it will be competitive there. I'm probably being too optimistic.

That is great news that Wise will get his shot at NASCAR. Too bad Waltrip has to be the one fielding his truck. :(

So is this truck going to replace the 17?

Are there going to be "Michael Waltrip Racing" and "Darrell Waltrip Motorsports" trucks next year or will it just be one team?

I would think MWR will take over DW's team but maybe they will be partner teams and help out each other.

I read somewhere a while back that its gonna be the same team and just change the name, and possibly the number.
