Dude, thats nothing special, the guy had a picture of a car pulling into the infield, and rendered a car onto it as an envirnment, the model of the car wasnt even welded...and theres no textures, my 8 yr old bro could do this...lol... :lol:

Dont get me wrong, it is kool, Ive been lookin for a similar photo to do a similar thing with, but if hes gonna do something do it well, put a car on the body, hide the original car's front spoiler (Look on the nose near the tire), and weld the body :-)

Venom, just say it. we all know you want to. just say the render sucks because there are tiny details that stick out to make it a horrible job. honestly, i bet most of us here didn't even notice any of these "huge" problems that kill the render. i include myself in that group. if it's so easy to do, why didn't you just do it in the first place? just think about it this way. if you put did a render that way, and someone complained becasue you either didn't include the driver (who cares about that, honestly?! most people don't look at cars to see whatthe driver looks like), or becasue there's a very tiny bit left of the original car that blends in almost perfectly, how would you feel? think about it before you put someone's work down.

btw, that is a really sweet render. too bad some people have to take so much away from it.

I'm not a genius, heck I when I paint a car, it looks like a 3rd grader did it, and that's insulting a 3rd grader. This is why I'm glad to know someone who is good at painting cars. ( Insert Shameless plug for Jim right here ! :roxs: :roxs: :roxs: ) Maybe an 8-year old could do better than what this is, hey, anything's possible. Personally, I think it looks great, and I've got NO problem saying it's better than anything I could do. I'm not good at graphics, and things like that, I'd like to be, but I'm not....what I can do, is drive the wheels off my car.....and that's where I'd rather spend my time.

For those that do this kind of stuff, more power to ya, it looks great, it really does. It doesnt have to be perfect, but it is VERY good !

Man I missed a lot today.

I tell ya guys I'm realy disappointed :tdown: I'm sure noone cares if I'm dissappointed, but..... That was very UN-Rubbin's-Racin'-like of several of you. I made the comment about the thread getting "crapped" on because it is one of the first threads I've seen on here that has gotten "crapped" on. I hope it is not a taste of things to come, cuz I don't wanna visit the site if there is nothing but competing against each other and not a feeling of helping one another.

If someone is just posting something to have people just oooh and ahhh over them fine. If your looking for help or ideas fine. If your looking for people to help your head swell, I'd say "don't let the door hit ya in the :moon: on the way out." We have tried for a friendly place to help people with their sims, joke, play and assist other. Not to build any one or a few persons ego!

The comment was made earlier about it "that is the best render i have ever seen on this site(even better than Venoms)" Heck if I saw where someone said something like, "That is the best thing I've ever seen (even better than Gibsons)", I'd take that as a compliment. Not saying that is where this thread started to decline but I'm just guessing that might be it. The later comments about the 8 year old doing better was a bit outta line. It wasn't constructive for either the situation or helping make the render any better. As seen it caused people to get on the defensive. Bad form in my mind, but water under the bridge at this point.

I think many of the guys here might be the best at what they do. What make them even better is they don't claim to be. If they have something up their sleeve that makes them better I'vee seen where they are more than willing to share :tup: I think a guy that has less talent painting, but is willing to help someone else figure out their copy of PSP, is better than a guy who can paint a Picaso on a high res template but only wants to hear people praise his name. The person the mediocre painter is helping may be the next Michaelangelo.

Don't put it down, tell someone how to build it up or why bother commenting at all? If the person take that advise they are given and it improves it fine. If they don't and it looks like :moon: Who cares! They did it, if they are happy with it that is all that matters. You don't have to tell them they built the great piramid if your looking at and anthill. Just tell them it might be a better anthill if they added a few bricks. In the end everyone opinions are different and what is good for them isn't meant to be good for you.

I love debating. Debating is great. It is what makes our country great and what make this forum great. Namecalling and flaming are for children. Please, don't subject me to those juvenile tendencies. I like to visit and see where guys joke and pick at each other names and noone gets offended. That is not the case in this thread I don't believe.

Now everyone count to ten, shake hands, and sing christmas carols. We don't need no stinking thread crapping and flaming.

Rant mode off...... That was far more typing than I think this thread deserved. Just my opinion on the situation, and it probably isn't wnated or needed.

BTW I kinda like that render. Even if it does have a few flaws. Think of the works to follow it that will be based on the same idea :tup: verticing the welded line that is perpendicular to the angle of the slope at that point in the fender would make it :roxs: even harder.

I almost wish I hadn't posted this picture at all. I didn't mean to cause such a stir with it. I personally thought it was the best render I have seen and some people in here would like to see it. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm not trying to get on ya about this Venom, if you still visit, but I know you visit the Sierra rendering forum and probably have seen this picture before and this render was done just for the purpose of showing off a new set of WHEELS. Not showing off a paint scheme, not showing his rendering skills. The wheels were the point of the render. I know I didn't post that fact in the first place but I didn't feel a need to.

I'm sorry for some of the comments made toward you, but sometimes a little smiley face doesn't cover up some of the inferences. Sometimes it is truely better to not say anything at all if you don't have anything nice to say. And everyone should keep that in mind.

This place :roxs: I think the visitors here appreciate the lack of hositility they see on the forums, and the respect shown to each other. When something seems off around here it is noticable.
