It's like a mixture of Marcos Ambrose and Jamie McMurray's paint schemes, except the designer/company went, " :cen: yeah, we really love blue!"

Shocking that you can't find something good to say about a scheme. I personally don't think it looks bad at all. I'll keep my final judgement until we actually see the car with correct logos but from this it doesn't look too bad.

Yeah, that's how it was this year (with the gold/tan), because the gold is actually beer w/ bubbles.

Keep in mind that this year's kids diecast had just the gold stripe at the bottom, so there could still be some sort of alcohol-related element missing.

Yeah I guess. This year they just did the trim so I figured they would keep all the components of the scheme the same for the kid version but just omit the beer. I like the scheme but I was prepared for the beer stuff on the scheme that is on the kid version.

I wouldn't doubt it. If we had adapted the way that Europe did things could be a whole lot better. Europeans respect alcohol and feel that if you're accustomed to it and desensitized to it then it won't be so wanted by youths. Same thing with driving. It takes so long, not to mention expensive, to get a drivers license that it turns out more people respect it. They don't view it as a "it's my right" but more of a privilege.
Richard Hammond
05-05-2012, 02:40 PM
And that's the problem with it here. We just don't have respect for it, nor understand the consequences of it. I have no problem with alcohol, but we just don't seem to have a grasp of how destructive it is when we go overboard until it's too late and someone gets themselves in hot water.
I think another prohibition would be suitable now just because of how reckless a lot of people have become with it.

I did a little research, and the scheme you're talking about was run at Rockingham of '96. But that year, the black Miller car was splashed in red and blue, and Rusty did win the Bristol Night Race that year. I don't know what year he won with the gold firesuit... it may have been 1996, but I don't think so. The car was more Miller in '96 than anything else. The MGD promotions stopped at the end of '95, so it may have been that year, because the Miller Lite began in 1997.
