I just hooked up my dual monitors, and I have never used dual monitors before, but now that i have them hooked up it sucks lol. Is the second monitor supposed to do anything? Mine is just my desktop and nothing else. What is the second monitor for?
Thanks

I believe you can have application open on that monitor.
For example:
You could have 3dsm open on one monitor and have photoshop open on the other.
Just drag the application to the second monitor!!

I saw once where a guy had two dual monitor cards runnig four monitors. All were set on different views of NR2k3.
One on forward view, one on rear view, one out the left window, & one out the right window. That was part of his racing setup.
How cool if you can do it.

This is a little program that I've used before. It adds a great deal of functionality if your running two monitors.
It's not free, but that's never stopped anyone...

i'm currently running a dual monitor, using my 19' crt as my primary and a 19' widescreen lcd as my secondary. i use the secondary for extra multitasking. for example, when i'm just doing normal computer stuff (not gaming), i'm always listening to music, so instead of having to constantly bring up itunes and minimize my browser and stuff, i just simply keep itunes open all the time in my second monitor. also i can watch a movie while doing normal web broswing (i don't have a tv in my room so i couldn't really do this too well before), monitor temps and other things while i'm in a game, and even use both monitors (with their normal desktop resolutions, which are different) in the supreme commander demo, which is VERY cool.
if you do no multitasking whatsoever, dual monitors can be pointless. if i don't have anything open in the second monitor, it's just a black image, because thats all my desktop is. i'm personally really liking having a 2nd monitor because i feel like i have more freedom overal. its a little trick though cause my crt is at 1280x1024, while the lcd is at 1440x900. also if you do a lot of painting and editing, 2 monitors is very useful.
best advice i can give you is to just play around with it. if you like it keep it. if you don't care about it, unplug it.
