Is it just me, or has interest just about fizzled out in this game? I can get online to race just about anytime of day and the most I've seen is about 10 other people on, I haven't checked out any leagues yet but it just seems like it's just about dead.

People tend to lose interest when 1 track is released every 3 months.

As much as I enjoy the sim I gotta agree. The worst part about it is they show us footage of the track 3-4 months before they release it....talk about a #@%^tease.

Just gotta look in the right places. However, support needs to be upped a bit and instead of locking the testing down to only 3 people, need to open it up for more people so alot of the bugs/exploits can be looked into and reported.

I'm not bashing the game in any way, I actually think it has a lot of promise, and I've liked what little I've been able to play of it. Have they still not opened things up to where people outside of the original development team can add things to it? A truck series, a COT series, all such as that? I saw where someone made a Nationwide series carset for the game, which I thought was a great idea, but other than that after a year of not being able to play it because of computer problems, the game seems mostly exactly as it was when it was first released.

TSF in time plan to do the ARCA Truck Series and will switch to the COT once the series does. They have mentioned thet already have the data. rFactor has plently of COT mods and trucks, why do you need it in ASR?

I understand owning ASR for $50, but you didn't buy rFactor when it was for $16? viewtopic.php?f=44&t=55915Even at the regular price of $30, rF is worth it with the amount of content available. http://www.rfactorcentral.com/index.cfmASR is a better title without non official TSF mods (or approved mod teams). Most content would be mostly ported items, nothing built new.

I would play it more if it wasnt so damned hard to update...
I was fine up until the leverage client, now my game won't update... It is installed, but won't boot or update. Wish I knew what forum they are based off of now that RSC is gone.

The game is a dead end. They wont ever admit it but I think most have realized its not much more than an rFactor mod and rFactor has the cup cars and tracks everybody want to race. The game hasnt come close to delivering what they advertised during the year long advertisement and I honestly dont think it ever will.
I will say I am interested in seeing their next product. I probubly wont be buying it but I am interested to see if they learned anything.
I find it interesting the game has been out for a little over a year now and is still ALONG way from complete. Just what did they have to release when it was supposed to be out 2 years ago. These guys are amateurs I wont be dealing with again

How are you so sure something ported wouldn't be good enough? It could come from a qualty source. There's inaccurate track layouts/graphics from official ASR releases already. (ex: It would only take an hour at the most to add the pavement on the backstretch of Talladega) It's apparent it's not worth the hassle to bring some scratch built tracks from NR2K3 over and redo the graphics to be ASR exclusive to help this out any...Unfortunately from the begining, this game has been worked on like a mod from rFactor.

well ive always said from the beginning when it was first brought up that TSF wouldnt allow modding in the same way that NR2003 was modded that the game wouldnt last long...NR2003 wouldnt have lasted nearly as long as it has without all the extra work thats been put into it by the people who actually bought it and play it and have received no payment for their efforts whatsoever...I really dont see what the problem is when nobody but TSF would profit from mods...personally if I had the knowledge and resources to produce a racing video game from the moment it was first released it would come with a statement that as long as ur not making money off of it take the code and the models, tracks etc. whatever and modify them however u wish and make them available to other people who play the game, to me the main advantage of PC games over console games is the ability to add much more to the game than what was originally available...it's a real shame that wasn't taken advantage of in this case i really think we would have an awesome game to play otherwise

YOU CAN mod the damned game in certian ways. You can build tracks for it and submit them to TSF. Nobody has done this, so thats the communities fault, not TSF's.

Smoke_20 wrote: On that same token, I don't see TSF putting out a "list" of standards that they expect out of these mods/tracks. They have said everything must be originally created, items/objects from others sims can't be used (But I think rF items are allowed). Scratch built items are allowed with permission (once checked) from other people. They never mentioned about textures tho. I guessing not used from other sims either, but there are alot of great free texture resources sites out there. e: here you go, posted today in a thread over at ASC: B_Zimmerman wrote: This has been discussed many times. If someone creates a track and wants us to review and prep it for delivery into Arca, just let us know. You must be the owner of the material & have licensed software to create it also.
We are picky, don't like conversions much, and if it's of a real track, we'll probably be pretty scrutinizing. There is a lot of talent out there, but usually most prefer the simpler, and pretty lackluster conversion route, which is not what we're after. Fresh, clean accurate tracks such as Toledo, Kentucky, Michigan, Pocono, Salem and soon to be released Texas & NJMP kinda reflect why we feel this way.
Anyone wishing to do a track or has one to offer, just let me know. http://www.arcasimcentral.com/modules.p ... pic&t=5050
